Mission Statement

For over forty years, Friends of the Orphans has supported the work of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH), a network of orphanages that is home to over 3,300 children in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through the generosity of sponsors, donors and volunteers, Friends of the Orphans strives to end the cycle of poverty by providing food, shelter, clothing, education, health care, love and hope to thousands of children at the NPH homes in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Peru, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Description

Over the past 50 years, NPH has changed the lives of over 15,000 homeless and orphaned children by helping them break free from a life of sickness, poverty and cruelty. Through NPH's care, the pequeños receive a home, education, healthcare, love and most importantly - HOPE.

All the NPH homes have fully accredited schools, clinics, chapels, and farms where each child is taught the values of work, faith, sharing and responsibility while being given the opportunity to reach their potential through love, guidance and an education. As adults, the pequeños leave the NPH homes with the ability to lead self-sufficient, productive lives and break free from the cycle of cruelty and poverty they were born into. Many pequeños have gone on to become professionals such a doctors a, lawyers and engineers.
