Mission Statement

The Shenandoah Valley Social Services (SVSS) provides assistance to citizens of Staunton, Augusta County and Waynesboro to help them live their best lives. One child, one senior citizen, one person at a time, SVSS programs and services help people triumph over poverty, abuse and neglect, achieve self-sufficiency and shape strong futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

Description

The Shenandoah Valley Social Services is divided into two broad program areas.

The Service Programs provide the following services directly, or via purchase of service: Adult Services, Adult Protective Services, Child Protective Services, Day Care Services, Employment Services, Foster Care and Adoption, Intake, and Volunteer Payee Services.

The Benefits Program provides medical, financial, fuel and food stamp assistance to the citizens of Augusta County, and the Cities of Staunton and Waynesboro. These benefits can be paid from Federal, State, and/or local funds.
