Mission Statement

Champlain Valley Family Center for Drug Treatment and Youth Services, Inc. is a private non-profit community-based organization which is dedicated to the provision of substance-abuse treatment, prevention, education, and related support programs to promote the well-being and quality of life of the residents of Clinton County.

Description

Drug abuse, alcohol abuse and addiction can tear apart families, careers, and friendships. The trained staff at Champlain Valley Family Center (CVFC) helps individuals and their families heal those wounds and move A Step Forward.

In conjunction, CVFC provides an in-school mentoring program. Studies show that children with mentors are more likely to stay in school, less likely to use drugs, more likely to achieve and aspire to better grades, less likely to skip school, more likely to go on to college, and more trusting of parents or guardians.

This is a great opportunity to have a positive impact in a child's life. I am the Director of the Lunchtime Mentoring Program but I am also a mentor. The time that I spend with my mentee is the highlight of my week! One hour a week = lives changed
