Mission Statement

The Atomic Age Alliance is a 501 c3 NON PROFIT organization dedicated to celebrating historic Mid Century Modernism and Atomic Age design, signage, architecture, culture and business through ongoing community advocacy, activism and educational programs.

In furtherance of its charitable and educational purposes, the Atomic Age Alliance engages in the following activities of a charitable and educational nature:

  1. Provide infrastructure and tools for individual communities without existing local Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age preservation organizations.
  2. Provide additional support for existing historic associations that support Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age education and preservation.
  3. Support communities in providing incentives and planning for restoration and/or adaptive reuse of historic Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age structures, signs, sites and designs thereby enhancing and contributing to the economic viability of the community.
  4. Promote public awareness, understanding and appreciation and build a constituency for Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age design through ongoing educational tours, lectures and exhibits.
  5. Provide documentation and assist in the research of historic structures, signs and designs of the Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age Design Movement.
  6. Raise awareness and funds for key architectural preservation issues across all categories: residential, commercial, civic, religious, and institutional and especially those recent past structures not yet eligible for the National Register.
  7. Award and recognize property owners for outstanding stewardship of historic Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age structures, signs, sites and designs.
  8. Provide practical networking tools for businesses, homeowners and public entities to find restoration resources for Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age structures, signs, sites and designs.
  9. Encourage new architectural and community development to reflect the rich heritage, style and elements of Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age design.
  10. Provide resources to advance Mid Century Modern and Atomic Age preservation through free public reference materials and tools online.
