To present american firefighting history from the early beginnings through the 21st century and to present fire safety and prevention topics for the public.

Description

The museum houses collections, vehicles, and exhbits that share the history of american fire fighting. We are a 10,000 sqft museum attached to a historic "1898" fire station for the Ctiy of Ypsilanti. Visit today and see our restored bunk area, brass fire poles and restored steamer with horses exhibit. The Model-T is celebrating 100 years in 2008, please visit this modified Model-T for fire service in the 1920's. Don't forget to look-up when visiting the old firestation, we have a four story hose drying tower that is said to be haunted by Fire Chief Miller.
