Mission Statement

Established in June 2005, Candy's Cats, Inc. is a no-kill organization dedicated to ensuring the humane treatment of all cats and kittens in the Central Florida area. We provide a safe and nurturing environment for homeless cats until they can be permanently placed into loving homes. We are committed to breaking the cycle of free roaming cat overpopulation in our community through education, promoting volunteerism and promoting low-cost spay/neuter programs. We promote awareness of the value of the animals in whose world we share. Candy's Cats is dedicated to the reduction of the homeless cat population in Central Florida.

We have no paid staff. We foster an average of 200 kitties at any given time. We take in stray cats, owner surrenders, feral kittens. We provide the following medical services when needed: spay/neuter surgery, test for feline leukemia and feline aids, treat for fleas and parasites, provide age appropriate vaccines (including Rabies) along with any other medication required. All funding comes from our adoption fees and monetary donations.

We are no-kill. We do not euthanize cats with aids or leukemia, who are blind or who have a missing limb (through surgery or birth defect). Our commitment is to the cats that come through our doors for the life of the cat. We take back all cats who are adopted through our program. Our ability to help is limited to the number of foster homes available and the funds we receive.

We always need volunteers for fostering, to run or assist at adoption centers during adoption events, socializing and cleaning during non-adoption hours. We need folks with experience writing grants, marketing and carrying out fundraising activities. We need volunteers who have a gift for teaching for our educational outreach. We need folks with medical backgrounds to assist with medical needs.
