Mission Statement
At Dare to Share we focus our attention on meeting native Zimbabweans' basic needs: food, healthcare, housing, education, and clothing. We offer a "hand-up," not a "hand-out." Each person supported by Dare to Share contributes in some way to Dare to Share's ongoing initiatives. These initiatives include (but are not limited to) feeding programs, medical support, school opportunities, housing, andfarm outreach.
Description
Dare to share has four basic initiatives: education, housing, feeding program and medical help.
Previously we have acheived these goals by private donations, speaking engagements, church donations, wire art sales and other crafts sold from Zimbabwe
In 2008, we plan to expand to medical care after a 2 week old child dies because the mother we support did not have the $1(american: one dollar) in time to see a doctor for her simple illness.
We have a goal to raise $3.5 million to increase the number of children in school, educate about AIDS, open medical clinics, and continue to house and feed those in need.
Most die from starvation and lack of basic medical care. (colds, asthema, etc) We can make a difference.
