Mission Statement

The Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Conservancy (Conservancy) is a primary state agency in the implementation of ecosystem restoration in the Delta and supports efforts that advance environmental protection and the economic well-being of Delta residents. The Conservancy collaborates and cooperates with local communities and others parties to preserve, protect, and restore the natural resources, economy, and agriculture of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and Suisun Marsh.

Description

The Conservancy co-sponsors two annual cleanups to educate and promote awareness of the importance of protecting and improving water quality in the Delta. The trash that finds its way to the Delta is a serious water pollution problem for both humans and wildlife. At Waterway Cleanups, volunteers to actively participate in water stewardship practices by cleaning up trash and preventing it from reaching waterways and ultimately, the ocean. Waterway cleanups provide a personal experience connecting with the issue of trash pollution and the need to reduce the amount of waste we create, recycle and reuse the waste we do create and dispose of waste properly and thoughtfully.
