our vision is to live in a community where all people, regardless of geography, background or economic status, can enjoy accountability, integrity, effectiveness and responsiveness from our elected officials and each of the city's departments, through grass roots involvement, engagement and advocacy.

Ø Provide, without bias, the timely dissemination of information and knowledge of government activities to the community and elected officials

Ø Build, train and empower a knowledgeable, aware and involved community group to monitor the integrity, performance and responsiveness of elected officials and government's operations

Ø Encourage, by example, a community free to exchange facts and opinions on public issues by facilitating open debate and discussion on the issues

Barry Allen, the listed contact and Chief Executive of Vanguardians, is a pseudonym. Barry Allen's real name is Allen B. Silvarman. He is a convicted felon. In March 1985 he was arrested and charged with possession and passing of counterfeit currency. In July 1985, he was sentenced after pleading guilty, served 1 year in Federal custody, and was released in July 1986. He is also a deadbeat dad who neglected his child support obligations, a serial adulterer who has been divorced at least 5 times, and a prolific creator of false identities for the purposes of fraud. I highly recommend any potential volunteers to steer clear of this man.
