Mission Statement

The Big Beyond Foundation is a non-profit organisation which aims to inspire and empower impoverished rural communities bordering protected conservation areas to imagine beyond today and participate in opportunities that create social and environmental sustainability.

We embed ourselves within the supported communities to enable a deep and dynamic understanding of culture, challenges and opportunities. We work hand-in-hand with local people to achieve simple, resourceful and lasting cross-sector community led-solutions.

Description

We offer adventurous individuals enriching experiences through bespoke and high impact volunteer programmes in some of the world's most beautiful yet fragile places and a unique chance to connect with local people in need of their dedication.

Right now, we're recruiting volunteers to join our small but passionate teams throughout the year in beautiful Uganda (Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to rare mountain gorillas) and remote Ethiopia (in the South Omo Valley working with the Ancient Hamar Tribe).
