Description

CYP Adventure Club is CYP's school-year program. It consists of after-school volunteering with various community and environmental causes as well as weekend recreation outings. Many of the kids who participate in Adventure Club are the same kids who attend summer camp with CYP. The volunteer activities include stream clean-ups, community gardens, food banks, open space and more. The recreation outings are of an outdoor focus and tend to be activities that do not require expensive equipment or season passes. Examples include snow sledding and snow tubing (High Altitude X-treme Sledding), fishing, kite flying, snow shoeing, mountain biking, ice skating and playing team-building games.

CYP Mountain Summer Camp is a ten day and nine night residential program that runs throughout the summer. There are four sessions. These are for kids ages 11-16. During each session there are two campsites serving twelve kids. The focus is on learning how to live in a backcountry style tent camp, learning basic environmental education, volunteerism and conservation as well as outdoor recreation. Specific activities include aquatics study, forest study, wildlife study, canoeing, fishing, hiking, white water rafting, bird banding, and an alpine day spent above tree line.
