Essex County FAmily Justice Center

Mission Statement

The Family Justice Center partners with several agencies and organizations, including the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office; the Essex County Sheriff’s Office; The Safe House; Rachel Coalition; American Friends Service Committee; Essex-Newark Legal Services; Newark Police Department to provide much needed services to domestic violence victims onsite at the FJC. Through partnership with multiple agencies, domestic violence victims who come to the Family Justice Center are provided assistance with the criminal justice process and access to law enforcement professionals, access to the civil protective process, civil legal assistance, safety planning, support groups, counseling, emergency food and transportation assistance, donated phones through the Verizon Hope Line Program and self-sufficiency services.
