The mission of the Commission on Affairs of the Elderly is to enhance the quality of life for Boston's senior citizens through planning, coordinating and monitoring the delivery of services to the elderly in an efficient and effective manner.

Title -

"Volunteer Translators Requested for First Night Senior Celebration; Boston Elderly Commission"

Listing - The Boston Elderly Commission is seeking volunteer translators for an upcoming event.

Basic conversational knowledge of Russian, Chinese, Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean, Spanish, or Vietnamese is requested. Individuals should be bilingual in the language.

Bilingual individuals, conversational in any of the above-mentioned languages, are invited to participate at The 18th Annual First Night Senior Celebration. This event takes place on Tuesday, December 30th between 10:00-3:00 pm, at the World Trade Center. Translators will have the opportunity to greet seniors, escort seniors to their seats, and generally assist seniors throughout the event. An Appreciation Celebration will follow directly after the Celebration.

Well I don’t know too much about this organization. But I am the assistant secretary for the NAACP Boston branch. and I’m also on the health committee and I am a caregiver for the elderly man who lives with me for 4 years now. And I would like to know more about this organization by volunteering and helping out
