Description

La Clinca del Barrio is a full service medical clinic. It is affiliated with the Metropolitan Hospital. The clinic serves the primary care needs, including peadiatrac for the under served in Spanish Harlem. The clinic serves a wide range of ethnic minorities, the largest of these being the Latin American population.

The clinic has been operating for ten years. Currently the medical staff are trying to expand the scope of the clinic to encourage more community involvement and broadan it's goals for comunity health. Including its promotion of litracy. and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabeates, asthma and hypertention which are endemic to this area.
