Mission Statement

The Texas State Guard supports multiple State and Federal organizations in a myriad of capacities. Border Patrol, ICE, DHS, DEM, DPS and the Texas Rangers all need the State Guard to enhance their own missions. We take great pride in our supporting role to our parent Texas National Guard units -- we walk amongst heroes and relish the opportunity.

Description

The Texas State Guard 401st Air Support Group is proud to be embedded with the Texas Air National Guard 209th Combat Weather Team -- proud of them and proud to serve with them. The 401st provides transportation, communications and meteorological observation and reporting missions for our National Guard parent unit to enhance their training experiences and to prepare the 209th for their own National and State missions. The 401st is also trained in Red Cross and FEMA emergency management and made good use of that training during relief operations for hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Monthly drills and annual training provide the 401st with the skills that Texas needs for home missions. Field exercises provide opportunities to practice our training in real-world environments with the 209th Combat Weather Team. ! We are bankers, biologists and businessmen, researchers and high tech professionals, manufacturers, mechanics and machinists, teachers and students. We serve Texas with pride and look to the future with anticipation and confidence
