Mission Statement

Jazz Foundation of America is saving jazz and blues one musician at a time. JFA achieves its mission by providing jazz and blues musicians with financial, medical, housing, and legal assistance through personalized care and consultation. Additionally, JFA achieves its mission by empowering musicians, creating opportunities for dignified performance and networking. JFA focuses especially on elderly and veteran performers who have paid their dues and find themselves in crisis due to illness, age, and/or other circumstances.

Jazz Foundation is the only national organization dedicated to ensuring the dignified survival of long-time members of the jazz and blues industry. JFA supports over 6,000 cases a year with emergency assistance and work opportunities. In its last fiscal year, JFA produced more than 850 jazz and blues performances in schools and nursing homes across the United States.
