Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
" Millennium" means Joyfulness, Peace, Serenity, & Righteousness, this is where we want young people "Minds" to be.
To ensure that our diverse population of disadvantaged youth of Jamaica, Queens recieves, meets, or exceeds academic growth with a variety of cultural arts, educational, recreational hands on activities and traveling opportunities. Our goal is to improve the overall mind of our children to strengthen character, build self-esteem, and help create optimum success today which builds well balanced leaders of tomorrow.
Since 1997, our program has been growing daily and still provides a broad range of services, resources, and traveling ventures throughout the community and abroad to better prepare our youth for today's competitive society.
In brief, we provide language classes to expand their knowledge and career readiness, take part in Exhibits, where we teach our youth thru history to honor, respect, & partake in all cultural events, a safe environment for Foster/Adopted youth who may have aged out of the system to learn life skills for self suffienciency, to introduce Operas, Broadway Theaters, Music Concerts, Community Tours, and art programs such as Dance, Music, Fashion designing, Etiquette classes, Computer Technology, Anube Craft Creations, Drama, and others to broaden their social, emotional, verbal, psychological abilities and more.
This will give our youth a since of responsibility, appreciation, nurturing, and caring for themselves, family, and community now through adulthood.
Millennium Minds is there to assist parents with low-income, single-parents, grand-parents who are re-parenting, extended families, and working class parents who cannot find time for themselves & want to expose opportunity and resources to their growing minds.
