The Eastern Washington Affiliate of Susan G. Komen is dedicated to ending breast cancer. The Affiliate's service area covers 14 counties in Eastern Washington: Adams, Asotin, Benton, Columbia, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Walla Walla, and Whitman. Up to seventy-five percent of the Affiliate's net income stays in our service area to fund breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs for medically underserved women. The remaining net income (a minimum of twenty-five percent) supports global research focused on the prevention of, and cures for, breast cancer. Since 2002, Komen Eastern Washington has awarded more than $3,460,852 for local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects in our service area. Our affiliate has also contributed $1,062,127 to global research.
