Description

Volunteers Without Borders is a registered Non-Governmental Organization based in Nairobi with an operational mandate in Nairobi, Siaya (Nyanza) and Mombasa ( Coast) counties. Our registration number is OP.218/051/12-0824/8709 under the NGOs Co-ordination Board (NGO’s act) and an affiliate member of the NGO’s council of Kenya. VWB incorporates the services of both local and international volunteers to serve in short term and long term volunteer programs in Kenya. In the process volunteers will be able to offer skills and experiences whilst gaining valuable working experience as a result

The NGO’s clientele majorly consist of the elderly, homeless children, the youth, the boy child, the girl child, Internally Displaced People IDP’s and the disabled. It also addresses the issue of Environmental Conservation, Health and Education and Peace Building.

Volunteers Without Borders intends to provide broad-spectrum and sustainable solutions to these issues, by using volunteers and subsequently enhancing tourism and cosmopolitanism. The goal of bringing about sustainable development within these communities is our vision.

Prospective international volunteers are able to make online applications via the NGO website on programs they would like to participate in. Upon approval they will be given travel guidelines, met at the airport, and allocated a "host" family adjacent to the community in which they intend to volunteer under short or long term programs. Upon completion they will be awarded certification of service before returning to their home countries. Monitoring and evaluation auditing will be done periodically to ensure that the organizations goals are met.
