Mission Statement

The Wilson-Kindelan School provides a deeply intentional, college-focussed education to primarily minority and underrepresented students living in the Mattapan-Randolph corridor of Boston, Massachusetts.

Description

SHARING, THINKING, CARING, LEARNING.
This is what the Wilson-Kindelan School is all about. We use the Whole Child Method, developed by Veronica Guerrero-Macia, to explore all aspects of a child's learning. Every learning modality is honored and utilized; every joy embraced. Through this unique approach to education, Ms. Guerrero-Macia has discovered a truly holistic approach to teaching, learning and understanding.

WHO WE ARE We are planning a small, independent school that will be located along the culturally pluralistic Mattapan-Randolph, Massachusetts corridor. We plan to serve students from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5, using our family and child-centric Whole Child Method. We aspire to represent families from many distinct groups including those of Haitian-Creole, Vietnamese, African-American, Brazilian and Cape Verdean and Caribbean cultures. We hope that this rich cultural stew will bring a diversity of languages and beliefs to our school environment, enriching all involved.

The school opens it's doors September 2016 to a cohort of 12-24 Kindergateners and First graders. In the meantime much needs to be accomplished including site rental, curriculum development, teacher recruiting and development.
