Mission Statement

The International Association of Lions Clubs began as a service organization in 1917 to support the betterment of communities and the world at large. The major service commitment of Lions Clubs is the prevention of irreversible blindness. Service projects that support this commitment include Sight First, Southern California Eye Institute, Lions Lighthouse for Sight, White Cane Days, and Canine Companions for Independence. We support a variety of other projects to benefit communities including the Sacramento Crisis Nurseries, Hearing and Speech Awareness, Leo Clubs, Mary's House shelter, Veterans Stand Down, Youth Exchange, International Youth Camps, Citizenship, Environmental, Health and Safety, Lion's Educational Fund Speech Contest, and other community needs.

Description

The Folsom Lake Lions Club began service in 1980 as a "Lioness" Club. In 2002 the Folsom Lake Lions Club was chartered as a formal Lions Club. Currently we have 17 active members. In over 25 years of service to our community, the Folsom Lake Lions Club members have contributed their time, talents, concerns, and financial support to hundreds of local projects. The Folsom Lake Lions Club holds an annual All You Can Eat Shrimp and Crab Feed in January. 100% of the net proceeds go toward various charitable organizations and projects. In addition to monetary donations, the Folsom Lake Lions Club performs volunteer service throughout the year. In November, we prepared 1,400 hotdog lunches for the Veteran's Day Parade.
