Mission Statement

Founded in 1984, the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA), is the collective voice of survivors of sexual violence and those who support a society free from violence and oppression. We work to eliminate sexual violence by providing education, training and prevention initiatives; influencing public policy; advocating for resources; and promoting offender accountability. CCASA reduces the impact of sexual violence by advocating that each and every survivor is treated with dignity and respect, and has full access to quality services.

Description

ORGANIZATIONAL PHILOSOPHY

To purposefully work from and for the perspectives of all persons impacted by sexual violence. CCASA's philosophy is achieved through identifying and respectfully embracing all types of communities by practicing active listening, understanding each community's unique needs and becoming involved; Actively and collaboratively working with all communities to eliminate sexual violence; developing and studying information and education on the intersections of oppression and sexual violence; and establishing a framework for addressing the perpetuation of casual reference, denial, avoidance and tolerance of sexual violence throughout society.
