Mission Statement

"To Educate, Empower and Celebrate survivors of domestic violence and help them achieve economic and self sufficiency."

Description

The Alma Domestic Violence Foundation was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Atlanta, GA. Founded by Alma G. Davis as a result of her own personal trials and triumphs with domestic violence, the foundation strives to ensure that survivors break the vicious cycle of abuse that is constantly on the rise.

Due to the alarming statistics of:

- 1 out of 4 women and 1 out of 7 males experience domestic violence in their lifetime
- Every 9 seconds a woman in the U.S. is beaten or assaulted
- 1.5 million high school students nationwide experience physical abuse from a dating partner in a single year

We utilize this platform to embrace, educate, encourage and celebrate those that have the courage to say "no more" and are trying to rebuild their lives. This is an important initiative to our community, as we must all do our part in wrapping our arms around survivors and continue to encourage them to move forward with positive, healthy lifestyles. Please join our efforts!

The purpose and vision of helping others makes all the difference. The Diva's were complete in the sense of being nurtured to wellness in mind, spirit and soul as they found value in themselves. The Gala was well put together and well attended. I enjoyed being a "Bonded Photographer" respecting the role I came to deliver! Looking forward to other events.

The work, dedication, and time the group of women put into this organization is really, amazingly phenomenal. I am honored to work alongside such a selfless dedicated charitable and wonderful organization like this one.
