Mission Statement
The mission of the Max Warburg Courage Curriculum, Inc. is to strengthen the character development and literacy skills of students. Our programs empower children to discover, then recognize, the role of courage in the lives of the characters they read about, in the lives of those around them, in their own lives and in their community.
Description
The Max Warburg Courage Curriculum is a yearlong language arts curriculum that empowers young people to explore their own capacity to act courageously. The core of the curriculum is a selection of award-winning, age-appropriate books that emphasize the theme of courage in the lives of children and young adults.
The Courage Curriculum honors the life of Max Warburg, a courageous eleven-year-old who lost his battle with leukemia in 1991. Max’s steadfast determination and heartfelt hope in the face of a deadly disease continue to inspire our work.
