Mission Statement

Our mission is to be a clinical research unit whose expertise provides excellence in evaluation of new therapeutics for allergic disease and asthma. Our vision is to be a national leader in health care research in asthma and allergic diseases.

Description

The University of Wisconsin Asthma, Allergy, and Pulmonary Research team is a nationally known research facility that has been studying asthma for over 30 years. Our center has conducted over 400 research studies with children and adults on topics such as:

  • the role of genetics in asthma,
  • treatment of asthma in children
  • how colds effect asthma.

Our research efforts, along with the thousands of people who have been in our studies, have helped to develop new asthma medications and guidelines for treating asthma.

In addition to our research studies, we are constantly trying to grow our community outreach. We help with Madison's yearly asthma camp, promote educational opportunities for local residents, and are currently working on creating an asthma awareness 5K.
