Mission Statement

THE GOAL OF THE YOUTH SHELTER PROGRAM OF WESTCHESTER, IS TO EDUCATE, MOTIVATE, AND PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR SUCCESS FOR THE RESIDENTS IN THE HOPE THAT THEY WILL CONTINUE TO FUNCTION AS POSITIVE CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF SOCIETY UPON THEIR RELEASE FROM OUR FACILITY.

Description

The Youth Shelter Program is a group residential facility that provides a home like alternative to jail for 16-21year old males. The shelter opened in 1976, its residents, who are often unable to raise bail, are awaiting dispositions for various criminal charges from courts throughout Westchester County. The residents have been jailed with an alternate remand form signed by the arraigning judge into the program.
