To enrich the lives of youth referred to Mentors and Friends by providing professionally support community-based mentoring resources.
We have the following programs:
Navigators -- One adult to one youth mentoring. Volunteer mentors must commit to 12, 9, or 6 month matches.
Esperanza -- One adult to 2 youth mentoring. Volunteer mentors must commit to participating in one or two activities with youth per month.
Book Safe -- One adult to one youth who needs an educational mentor. This is a tutoring program. The length of commitment is at least the length of the school year. Two hours per week of tutoring and one recreational activity is asked of the mentor and mentee.
Work Skills -- One adult to one youth focusing on skills for future employment skills. Hours vary. Work crews of 5 to 6 youth also need volunteer helpers for supervision and support. Mock interviewers and resume writers and job application supporters are always needed.
