The Festival of the Arts promotes the many artistic talents of the South Texas region and features an open invitation to all artists to participate in the annual event, which creates a vastly diverse artistic experience for its patrons. Over 40 art groups and 250 individual artists currently participate in the Festival project and each year the event continues to expand.

The event provides the unique signature event of Italian Street Painting or Chalk Art by recognized guest artists with the highest international recognitions who are frequently commissioned by major corporations and attract audiences of all ages.

The extensive art-full creativity area called KidZone was developed in 2007 and is a main trademark attraction for those 12 and under. The event celebrates the arts by offering a bevy of artistic activities that provide unique artistic experiences. Free workshops for students and adults are offered with international guest artists prior to the Festival weekend. Patrons can watch pottery and sand sculptures being created. Various other art demonstrations are available.

Festival performing artists have strong repertoires and are seasoned artists offering professional and quality performances. The event boasts of many known and up-and-coming local musicians allowing for a variety of live entertainment. Quality independent film screenings of local and acclaimed cinematographers are featured during its Indie film/cinema programming.

All work exhibited must be original work produced by the artist and vending artists work must be

hand-made and may not be the result of work by an assistant, or from commercial kits, molds, patterns, plans, prefabricated forms or other commercial methods. The Festival is a creative oasis comprised of an eclectic mix of art enthusiasts, collectors and tourists, and the event continues to bring focus to Corpus Christi’s artistic assets. The event supports the programs of local profit and non-profit arts entities and art in public places. Through dynamic collaboration with artists, inclusive engagement of the community, and the passionate efforts of its Board of Directors, this event is a catalyst for enriching the regions cultural landscape, as well as promoting the community and coastal regions artists.
