Mission Statement
Transition House provides an opportunity for people who are homeless and addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, to maintain sobriety and become productive, self-sustaining members of the community.
The mission of Transition House is to provide a permanent solution to the problem of homelessness in metro Atlanta. We do this by addressing the most insidious cause of chronic homelessness---alcohol and other drug (AOD) addiction. Transition House provides recovery programs and supportive transitional housing so that homeless persons may become sober, independent and productive members of our community. While our mission is to serve the homeless, our aim is to ensure that they acquire the resiliency and skills to leave our program as self-sufficient contributors to society. To support this mission, Transition House provides relapse prevention programs to three homeless populations: men, women, and women with children.
