Centre for Humanity and Integrated Development (CHID) in Ghana, a community development and human right organization believes in the spirit of volunteerism; this organization is built on virtues including capacity building through volunteerism.

Volunteering is generally considered as a selfless activity and is intended to promote goodness or improve the quality of life of those that needs it. In return, this activity can mutually produce a feeling of self-worth and respect. There is no financial gain involved for the individual. Volunteering is also renowned for skill development, socialization.
