Description

The Ohio Community Service Council (The Council) is a state agency whose mission is to strengthen Ohio's communities through service and volunteerism. The Council was established in 1994 to administer grants under the federal AmeriCorps program and promote volunteerism throughout the state. The agency operates with 9 permanent and 4 contract staff. The Council's Board is made up of 13 appointees of the Governor and 8 state agency/legislative representatives. They approve the annual operating budget, set overall priorities in an annual work plan, and approve sub-grantee funding.
