Mission Statement
The mission of APIM is to increase accessibility to higher education of the African immigrant community youths by promoting (a) their increased enrollment and, (b) their successful completion of post-secondary education.
Description
APIM motivates, trains, and provides educational empowerment to the immigrant youth in order to successfully enter and complete higher education. These are some of the major objectives to achieve these goals:
1. Organize volunteers of scholars, educators, and trainers that tutor and coach the African immigrants in Pre-University education.
2. Provide College Readiness Classes through academic tutoring and coaching on core courses in Math, Science and English.
3. Provide Higher Education Resources that offer information about higher education, including financial aid processes and scholarship procedures.
4 . Train/Motivate parents to assist and participate in their children's education.
5. Host special educational events such as the African Educational Recreation Night, in order to motivate and promote the community education
