Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
Building a sense of community through quality recreation.
The Acton Recreation Department is a self-funded, non-profit organiation run by a Recreation Director and Events Coordinator/Adm. Asst. All special events for the Town are totally dependent upon donations and sponsorship funding and volunteer support. Without contined support in these three areas, we would not be able to continue events for Acton and its surrounding communities. There are numerous community benefits when you support town events--among them: connects families; reduces crime and delinquency; enhances ethnic and cultural understanding, harmony and tolerance; provides an outlet for conflict resolution; supports youth; offers lifelines for the elderely.
We offer a large variety of events at NARA Park including the grand fireworks and concert on July 4th, many concerts in the park, Acton Day, Winterfest and many other events throughout the year.
