Mission Statement

A. To provide for elderly or handicapped families and persons on a non-profit basis housing and related facilities and services specially designed to meet the physical, social, and psychological needs of the aged or handicapped and contribute to their health, security, and happiness and usefulness in longer living.

B. To plan, construct and operate, maintain and improve housing and related facilities and services for elderly or handicapped families and persons.

C. To have and exercise all such powers conferred by the laws of the District of Columbia upon corporations formed under the District of Columbia Non-profit Corporation Act, as are not inconsistent with the corporate purposes and with Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 as now enacted or hereinafter amended.

Description

Friendship Terrace, a service of Episcopal Senior Ministries, offers affordable rental housing convenient to transportation and shopping and moderately priced support services to seniors and physically disabled persons under 62. Residents and staff work together to promote diversity and a wide range of social, educational, and cultural activities within the comfort and security of a retirement community.
