Mission Statement

Sunshine Activity Center is dedicated to the development of life skills in persons with developmental disablities. Service provision is geared toward adults within a supportive and nurturing environment. Our Status: Sunshine Activity Center is a Not-for-Profit Organization, Incorporated in the State of Illinois and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3) organization since 1985 and Recognized by the Department of Human Services Office of Developmental Disabilities and accredited by CARF... The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission.

Description

Our Program plan will be developed to enhance the following functional life skills of the persons served in the following areas with team input and personal preference and availability of resources and may include: Personal Care skills, Safety skill, Housekeeping, Dining, Arts & Crafts, Drama & Music, Fitness, Sign Language, Special Events, Hobbies, Baking Computer skills, Communication skills, Socialization skills.
