Mission Statement

Changing and Saving Lives Through the Power of Aviation

Description

Wings of Hope was founded in 1962 and is the largest Humanitarian aviation charity in the world. Our intent is to save lives, improve the quality of lives, and bring hope to people where the utilization of aviation is vital to the accomplishment of these humanitarian endeavors. We have placed over 150 aircraft serving mankind in more than 40 countries.

We focus on what is needed in a region to help the less fortunate of our fellow man achieve an improved level of health care, education. and opportunity. Each region served has the work customized for their particular situation.

From our St. Louis area headquarters, we operate a free Medical Air Transport program that serves the central United States. This service carries children with various maladies and birth defects, even those that are not ambulatory, to and from health care. It also carries adults who have debilitating health issues. If needed and possible, we may arrange for the medical care necessary at participating health care providers.

St. Louis HQ volunteer hours generally 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

I have volunteered with this organization for 4 years now and can honestly say it has been the greatest experience. WoH helps people in need in this country and around the world. Whatever way you're able to contribute is always appreciated at every level. It really is an amazing place.

A business that transforms the lives of those that desperately need health care in distant lands around the world. The organization has frequent company meetings for the Volunteers to keep informed about current events and business matters. A group of friendly dedicated people committed to the vision and mission of Wings of Hope.

Did you know? The Wings of Hope Mission is to bring Humanitarian programs into the most isolated and impoverished regions where the poor are marginalized. Wings of Hope have some basic tenets that guide us: 1. Be totally non-sectarian 2. Have no politics 3. Give no regard to race 4. Be composed of volunteers who share the burden of providing only Humanitarian services 5. Establish programs that work to alleviate the causes of the problem 6. It's about the mission - serving humankind at the basic level. Wings of Hope helps with medical and other sustainable efforts to improve the lives and outcomes for the poor, around the world and in the U.S. The non-sectarian, non-political philosphy we adhere to makes WOH welcomed in almost every country. WOH delivers more services with less expense than most other charities, which leverages every dollar raised by this organization.
