Mission Statement

Holigent.org is committed to promoting the concept of peace and sustainability as inseparable pursuits of our collective desire to survive and thrive on our endangered planet. Holigent.org is developing proposals for reengineering the way we live, work, commute and consume to allow communities to transition to a socioeconomic arrangement of secure and peaceful sustainability.

Description

Holigent.org is a nonprofit organization developing and offering programs to help rearrange the way we live, work, commute and consume and to facilitate the development of a socioeconomic alternative that promotes economic security, social harmony and sustainability. On a conceptual level, we recognize that capitalist-consumerism in its present form has become an over-consuming and hyper-polluting unsustainable global economic monoculture and that humanity has no Plan B for pursuing a sustainable and peaceful alternative. We encourage the formation of nonprofit organizations and their partnering with governments and philanthropists in developing Transitional Urban Villages. Such not-for-profit developments propose a new urban approach to providing high-quality affordable living and other solutions for the multiple problems of cities large and small in the U.S. and around the world. In a more advanced proposal we offer the Holigent Solution, which provides a sustainable alternative for residents to further rearrange the way they live and work. Holigent communities develop a barter-based local system that works in parallel with and to a degree separate from the global economy. As a result, a hybrid socioeconomic alternative is developed that secures the essential quality of life, affordable housing, and social harmony at a reduced footprint on the environment even during severe downturns of the general global economy.
