Mission Statement

"To provide mental health awareness and action-oriented education for minorities and the professionals serving them by coordinating conferences and implementing grassroots outreach initiatives."

Description

Why Mental Health Fair & Walk?

The Mental Health Fair & Walk is one of MHIAAC’s ways to bring awareness and offer solutions to the problem that African Americans face with the stigma of mental illness. Many African Americans suffer in silence because they are afraid of being labeled, ridiculed and cast aside by their peers and love ones.

MHIAAC encourages everyone of all race, religion, and socio-economic class. We’re not culturally "selective", we are culturally "sensitive" to the needs of the community
