Mission Statement

Serving our community since 1954 with a mission to provide access to comprehensive speech, hearing, language and other therapeutic services that empower and transform lives.

Description

We offer audiology and speech-language pathology services to all ages as well as pediatric occupational therapy. We also operate the regions only early intervention auditory/verbal program for children who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, which we call Sound Start. Since the 1980's we have hosted a support group for survivors of stroke. It is now open also to survivors of traumatic brain injury. This group, called the Speak Easy, meets here at our center each Friday from 10am - 11:30am.

Savannah Speech and Hearing has changed our daughter's life. We were introduced to the audiology department December of 2007 and then enrolled Kaitlin in the Sound Start program in January 2008. Within ten months, Kaitlin had gained over 1 1/2 years of speech language ability and has only continued to gain more momentum every single day! Not bad for a profoundly hearing impaired 5 year old! We know we are in very good hands with our audiologist, Dr. Richardson, as she continually monitors Kaitlin's progress (she recently received a cochlear implant), and is so on top of even the tiniest adjustment needed. The Sound Start program director, Ms. Laurie Hill and Kaitlin's teacher, Ms. Hillary Trottier, are so strong and proactive in their field that we can actually hear what Kaitlin is learning because she comes home and now tells us! We are very blessed to have this organization in our comunity.
