Mission Statement

Our Mission.
The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) is to help boys and girls, generally from disadvantaged circumstances, develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders. To achieve this, we offer a variety of program activities and support services designed to assist in the educational, emotional, physical and social development of six to 18-year-olds, without regard to social, racial, ethnic, or religious background.

Description

Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) has always been about serving young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances. It's no coincidence that we deliberately bring advantages to youth as we help them become engaged citizens and responsible adults.

In fact, we've boosted opportunities for young people, ages 6 to 18, for more than 100 years, through our comprehensive programs that promote long-lasting, trusting relationships with caring adults and provide a wealth of opportunities for young people to discover their interests and develop their character.

Our core programs in education, the arts, technology, sports, fitness and recreation, leadership, and life skills are designed for positive impact on the "whole child" and to advance intellectual, social, emotional and moral education.

Today, our work is positively impacting the lives of nearly 13,000 children and teens in more than a dozen neighborhoods in Boston and Chelsea through five Clubs, four Community Learning Centers in partnership with Boston Public Schools, and Youth Service Providers Network in partnership with the Boston Police Department - ultimately Changing our world, one kid at a time.
