The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is America's largest volunteer network for people age 55 and over. We connect senior volunteers to hundreds of volunteer opportunities at a diverse group of local non-profits and agencies that serve our community. Description

Become a Friendly Visitor today by offering a supportive social structure of trained volunteers who provide weekly positive interactions to frail and disabled adults. Through recurring home and telephone visitations, the program is also able to identify the client’s unmet needs and provide them with ongoing assistance in securing access to appropriate health and social services resources.

Join (HICAP) Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program by providing counseling to Medicare beneficiaries of all ages. HICAP Counselors are trained and registered by the California Department of Aging. They provide independent, unbiased information to those who need assistance through the complex health care sysyem.

Assist others in providing transportation to those who can not drive themselves to doctors appointments, pharmacy and even grocery shopping. Join today and become a RSVP volunteer for one of our transportation volunteer stations.

Become a state certiifed volunteer who will woek under the guidance of the California State Ombudsman by advocating for the quality of life and care of residents in skilled nursing homes and residential care homes. After proper training, you will seek to resolve complaints and concerns communicated by or on behalf of residents of long-term care facilities. Being an Ombudsman volunteer will give you an opportunity to work with facility administration and staff, state, county, and local agencies, family members, concerned citizens objectively investigating and resolving issues that affect residents in long-term care facilities.
