Mission Statement

The mission of the Portage County Medical Reserve Corps is to assist local response efforts during a public health emergency or large-scale event. Through a coordinated Volunteer Reception Center, health professionals (licensed and non-licensed) and community volunteers will come together to assist the Portage County Health Department with various assigned tasks. Together we can all make a difference.

Description

Volunteers are needed for both emergency and non-emergency purposes. During an emergency, volunteers will receive the necessary training to staff vaccination clinics and pharmaceutical distribution sites, staff emergency call centers, and assist in disaster relief efforts. During non-emergency times, volunteers will be trained to serve as public health ambassadors and may be asked to provide disaster preparedness and public health education to members of the community.
