Description

About the Hackney Pirates and the Shop of Adventures

The Hackney Pirates is an enterprising charity working to develop the literacy and real-world skills of local young people. We run daily learning sessions with young people between the age of 9 and 12. We take an innovative approach to improving the learning of pupils who need extra help.

The Shop of Adventures is a high street book shop, gift shop and café on Kingsland High Street that funds the work of the Hackney Pirates. It is a place where the local community come to have their own adventures and to learn about the work of the Hackney Pirates. We sell adventurous products and artwork sourced locally as well as creative products produced by the Young Pirates themselves.
