Mission Statement

The Brooks Preservation Society (BPS) a 501(c)(3) non-profit all volunteer organization, was formed in 2008 with the mission to protect, preserve, and celebrate historic structures and artifacts in Brooks as well as the surrounding communities for the benefit of the citizens and local economy. The preservation and restoration of structures in a community contributes to the economic vitality.

Our focus in the preservation and operation of the BElfast & Moosehead Lake Railorad. Through the operation of the railroad as an operating tourist railroad, we are able to increase the probabilty that the railroad will be preserved for the future.

Description

The Belfast & Moosehead Lake Railroad offers train excursions on weekends, weekdays and special events from May until October.

We run several locomotives, historic rail cars as well as care and maintain 30 miles of railroad.
