Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our long term mission is to create a residential and vocational community for adults with autism and other developmental challenges, one that encompass all aspects of the Loudoun County farm lifestyle.
Our goal is to foster independence and a sense of achievement by recognizing and developing individual potential in a supportive farmstead environment. By focusing on the individual talents of those we work with, we can hone their skills and match them with the needs of the local job market.
Legacy Farms is made up of a group of teachers, parents and professionals with a common vision; to create a residential and vocational community for adults with autism and other developmental challenges. While dedicating ourselves to improve the lives of young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), we recognized the lack of meaningful post-secondary opportunities. Thus, the idea of creating a legacy for special needs adults was born, as we feel life for those with ASD does not stop at 22, it’s just beginning.
We established ourselves as a 501c3 non-profit in 2011, since then we’ve been hard at work gaining visibility in Loudoun County, Virginia. We hope inspire others to help us become a thriving farmstead that provides top quality produce for the local community.
We envision creating a community of people living and working together on the farm. One that will provide the residents with meaningful vocational, recreational and community activities that encourage interdependence and enhance their individual potential.
