Mission Statement

Our mission is to help fight poverty in Burundi by providing education, healthcare, and self-sustaining enterprise opportunities on a village by village basis.

Description

Located in Eastern Africa, Burundi is listed as one of the poorest countries in the world with over 80% of the population living in povery. Political unrest has resulted in the death and displacement of hundred thousands of people. HIV_AIDS affects about 1 in 15 people and there are estimated to be over 600,000 orphans.

Through Burundi Friends International, we give those who have no voice a chance to be heard. We share their stories and we act.

With your help, we bring people out of destitution-one orphanage, school, clinic, woman and child at a time.
