Mission Statement
PanCAN is dedicated to focusing national attention on the need to find a cure for pancreatic cancer. This will be accomplished by providing public and professional education that embraces the urgent need for more research, effective treatments, and early detection and prevention programs. We are the local affiliate chapter in Ft. Lauderdale, FL serving Palm Beach and Broward Counties.
Description
PanCAN has three major programs including Patient and Liaison Services (PALS), research advocacy and educational/awareness initiatives. PALS is a comprehensive program for pancreatic cancer patients, their families and health professionals that integrates the clinical trial process into extensive patient information and guidance from our PALS Associates. Research Advocacy includes direct funding of research grants and advocacy to increase the level of research funding from the national government for pancreatic cancer. Finally, our educational and awareness initiatives include outreach to the professional community, as well as our grassroots efforts.
