We are committed to continuous quality improvement initiatives that strive for excellence in the workplace and to advancing geriatric care while assuring fiscal responsibility.

Description

Daughters of Miriam Center/The Gallen Institute sits perched atop the rolling hills of Northern New Jersey on 13 acres of beautiful, park-like grounds. Located in the suburban town of Clifton, New Jersey the Center is a state-of-the-art long-term care and subacute care facility providing broad-based services to Jewish seniors. Dedicated to providing the highest quality care, the Center has far exceeded a stereotypical nursing home by offering a continuum of care environment, making us a leader in Jewish eldercare.

Divisions include a skilled nursing facility, a subacute care wing, adementia/Alzheimer’s care pavilion, a rehabilitation program, asheltered workshop, hospice care, a respite care program, and senior apartments with supportive programs. Daughters of Miriam Center offers a glatt kosher kitchen with dietary staff carefully monitoring meals prepared for specialized diets. Whatever level of services you or your loved one may need, from independent living to residential care, Daughters of Miriam Center/The Gallen Institute can help.

Founded in 1921 as a Jewish home for the aged and orphans, the Center is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization licensed by the New Jersey Department of Health and serves as a university-affiliated teaching center. Funded privately and by government sources, the Center participates in Medicare, Medicaid and several managed care programs. The Center is the only Jewish facility in New Jersey accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). We proudly display the JCAHO gold seal to demonstrate our commitment to the elderly as we voluntarily seek accreditation from the Joint Commission, a national accrediting body whose standards exceed state and federal requirements.
