We serve to bring the love Christ to those in need through medical care and evangelism.

Description

Our mission is to care for physical ailments and to go beyond the stethoscope to minister to the spiritual and emotional needs of the indigenous Maya in the mountainous Quiche' province of the Central Highlands of Guatemala. We accomplish this by working in close cooperation with local medical officials and hospital facilities. We support pastors in rural areas with medical clinics in their churches, as well as join with other missionaries to reach deep into remote areas to hold medical clinics. We provide training and experience for visiting medical students from the United States and financially support deserving Guatemalan students in medical and nursing schools. We also provide financial aid to the Utatlan Christian School in Santa Cruz, which includes financial aid to students as well as funding for modernizing the school campus both structurally and technologically. My husband and I went on several mission trips to Guatemala with our church, The Woodlands (TX) United Methodist Church, and led by Dr. Jim Street and his wife, Kathleen. Many of the team worked in Quiche at the hospital. Jim and I worked at the Utatlan School in Quiche. We also led Vacation Bible School in Chinique. Every trip wa so fulfilling and I want everyone to know that Agape in Action is a great ministry and I would go again but I am now 83 and don't feel up to it any longer. We also sponsored a child there. Five stars for Agape in Action.
