Mission Statement

The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Description

In 1865 The Salvation Army was established as an organization that met human needs without discrimination and that is still true today here in Yuma County.

Client populations are residents/transients of Yuma County and Winterhaven, Ca. ages ranging from 0 to 99 years of age. 90% of the clients are part of low-income families.

The Salvation Army has provided programs for the community for over 75 years in Yuma County and will continue to provide character-building programs for thousands of youth and families well into the future. We will continue to meet human needs without discrimination as our mission states and cater programs specifically to meet needs of the day.

The Salvation Army has developed and revamped programming to assist and teach basic needs for family units. This is done by centering all program objectives on the ideal of "Focusing on Family Enrichment".
